CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!

Our NAACP branch consists entirely of volunteers, like you, who selflessly give of their time and talents to help further our mission of equity and fairness in Harford County. We are currently actively recruiting volunteers in the following areas:

Membership

The Membership Committee works throughout the year to increase Branch membership and member engagement. It is also responsible for planning and organizing an annual membership campaign while continuously soliciting new members and securing renewals from current members.

Finance

Do you have experience with accounting or budgeting? If so, we could use your help.

Fundraising

The Freedom Fund Committee plans and conducts our fundraising activities. It is through our fundraising efforts that we are able to spread our purpose and support to our community members.

Youth/Education

Members of this committee support and engage youth-led initiatives which reinforce the NAACP's vision and mission within the local community, and advocate for all students to have access to an equal and high-quality public education system by promoting academically enriched programs, resource equity, teacher quality and enhancing early childhood literacy initiatives.

Communications

The Communication, Press & Publicity Committee promotes our branch, activities, and fundamental goals which include the elimination of racial isolation, fear, and the furtherance of multiracial and cultural understandings.

Health

The Health Committee focuses on important health issues and organizes events geared to the needs of the community.

Political Action/Legal Redress

This committee strives to increase political awareness, voter education, voter registration and voter participation in elections, the census and political redistricting.  The committee also keeps informed about political, economic, housing, public safety, educational and other issues that impact communities of color. In addition, this committee may support leadership in responding to community members who believe they have suffered violations of their civil rights, e.g. excessive force, landlord misconduct, police reform and other similar matters.
